Bought these recently as part of a RT5000 system to get the RT3000p mains. I've already got two pairs of FX1000's, and it doesn't look like we'll be seeing DD 9.1 anytime soon, so this pair is for sale.
Cosmetically, these look great other than one fabric grille with a scuff/tear on one side. I think grilles can still be bought from Polk. Some like the grilles off anyway. (Sure looks cool that way.) The wood finish has no scratches or dings that I can see. Grille pins are all there. One of the bi-amping connector straps is missing. I may have an extra somewhere. If not, a short piece of wire fixes it. In my experience, appearance is very good for speakers of this age. Sonically, they are like new. Drivers all work, no damage, dipole/bipole switches are AOK.
I bought the RT5000 system from a pawn shop, and I'm guessing the cosmetic problems came from being on the sales floor, or being moved around, not from the previous owner's neglect. The RT5k system came with the original manuals, urethane pads for the RT3000p's and the interconnect cables, as well, so I don't think the unit's had a hard life.
I paid $600 for the last pair I bought about a year ago, as I recall. $550 seems fair to me because of the cosmetic issues, but if I'm nuts, and you are serious, make me an offer. I'm in ATL at 30092 so local pickup is preferred, but I can ship these.
I've got photos if you like. Please PM me with your email address and I'll get them to you.
