Hello,
I am selling my RT2000p's and the CS1000p center channel I was using as my front stage. I paid $1200 about a year ago, but I'm asking $1000 for the set. They are monsters so I can't ship these, they are located in Green Cove Springs, FL.
I just realized the product pages for these speakers has been taken down by Polk. I have attached the specs from the manuals I have on my PC. These speakers feature built-in amps to power the woofer sections; the amps feature gain controls to adjust the bass to your liking.
What you get:
Two RT2000p's, CS1000p
All speaker grills
Jumper plates for the CS1000p (see below)
PDF manuals (will print in color upon request)
The sound:
Sonically they are all in great condition, the RT2000p's are an underrated speaker and sound VERY good and BIG. By big, I not only mean bass but also the soundstage and presence. The CS1000p is a great center channel that will anchor the on screen sounds, even the big explosions. Together, they create a seamless voice matched soundstage. They have grunt, especially when comparing the center channel to today's offerings, but all 3 don't need a lot of power to get there since they have built in amplifiers. At one point I powered the RT2000p's with a 40w/ch Onkyo while my main AVR was in for service and they sounded good :)
Cosmetics:
Cosmetically they have some wear and tear, but that is to be expected for a 10 year old speaker. The delicate felt-like surround on the front face has a some wear and tear on it here and there. It isn't horrible, but I needed to say it.
CS1000p - It was originally rosewood, but the previous owner painted the speaker flat black. It doesn't look ugly though. There are two small screw holes in the wood on the top front, but they aren't big and don't pass through. The grill has a mark on it on the bottom left, but other than that it looks good. 3 of the 8 tabs on the grill are missing, but it will stay on without any extra help. The front of the speaker and the speakers themselves look great.
RT2000p's - The veneer and grills are in overall great shape. The front of the speakers and the speakers themselves look great.
Caveats:
The previous owner didn't have these problems, so it could be my house. The center channel amps have a buzz to them when they are on, RCA plugs didn't solve the problem. It is inaudible once audio plays through it.
One of the RT2000p's also has this buzz, but it is audible. The RCA plugs didn't fix the problem, but a paperclip did. With the clip on, it is completely silent. (See picture below.)
The jumper tabs for the RT2000p's are missing, but the CS1000p's are there.
Final thoughts:
Keep in mind these speakers are 10 years old, but they do NOT perform like it. They sound big, but don't need big power! I'm selling because I am building DIY speakers.
