At a cost of $100, you can't go wrong with that system. Ought to give you many hours of listening pleasure. As you aquire more cash, then the upgrades can start.

I don't know much about CV's I heard that you have to play them loud to get them to sound good. Is that true?

When I was in school, I always find Cerwin Vega's sounded their best with two beers in either hand and a girl on my lap.

The kenwood pieces are worth $100 alone. I owned a KC207 and similar amp. Actually pretty decent, and they'll power the hell out of those Cerwins. . . we're talking lights dimming, ears bleeding, children screaming kind of music.

For that price, grab it and don't think twice.
Another tip - look around for a powered sub or two maybe even the PSW10s that people couldn't give away last year. Wire them up "the polk way" and maybe cross the over at 50hz or so. That will take the low, low bass off the Vegas and they will get that much louder. College drinking rigs have have the goal of getting loud and staying that way for hours. It worked great for me. You will basically see my old college drinking rig comprising most of my now "gym rig" (minus one sub a another pair of Vegas!)

If you find anyone that is basically trying to give away a PSW10 let me know because that would be awsome to have.
It would help if you added your location to your profile.

The C-V are some of the worst sounding speakers ever offered for sale, but they get real loud, with real little power. You drink enough beer, you'll agree with the other guys here that say they sound okay. They were shit-face too.
There's going to be a 4/8 ohm switch on the back of the Kenwood power amp. It's position is dictated by how many of those C-V's you hook up to it. The heft and weight of that particular Kenwood power amp leads me to believe it doesn't have much roast beef into 4 ohms. I've had a couple pass through here.
