Well I suppose I didnt mean modify but rather "upgrade".

Instead of paralleling caps, wouldn't it be better to just have a custom capacitor made? I would rather save space and have it look cleaner. I really wanna talk to one of you guys in depth over the phone or on an instant messenger of some sort and learn more about this stuff. These upgrades will be my Christmas present to myself, so I want to learn as much as I can before then

I'm not aware of any 500uf film caps and a custom pair would be ridiculously expensive, if available at all.

When paralleling film caps, especially caps in series with a tweeter or mid, all caps should be the same value(divided equally). Three Solen 160uf 400vdc caps in parallel would be the closest to 500uf that I'm aware of. Dayton and Mundorf also make a few large value caps, but nothing that would be practical for your application.
