Ok.... this is a semi rant or mini me rant if you will. Pho restaurants have been springing up here like crazy. I'm not a fan of Pho.. = Vietnamese noodle soup.

there are quite a few here now.. to many I think... I don't think this is Pho country at all. but maybe it is. We like to eat dead four legged animals charred over a open fire. :p

end of rant... ;)

2 legged, 3 legged, 1 legged. Makes no difference to me. A cow with only 2 legs is lean beef as far as I'm concerned. A cow with no legs....Mmmm, ground beef. :p

In San Jose , they are as common as traffic signal lights :p

There are many different levels here too, fast food type soup houses....ma and pa type soup houses.....sit down fancy soup houses....and then there is the only type I have been to ( When the guys at Intel explained it to me , I said what the hell ) ...the sit down and be served by vietnamese women wearing nothing but short shorts and bikini tops :D

They also serve a coffee beverage there that will remove paint off the walls.......

OK, just for the fact that someone else remembers that other than me is awesome!

When I get to Hawaii next (yes, it will happen!) I'm gonna find you and buy you a Longboard Lager just for that post right there!

They are ALL OVER here as well. And of course since I live in Seattle, all the liberals think it's the next best thing to sliced bread and make them culturally progressive. Please; it's not that cool, doesn't taste that good, and most of the little corner places are pretty skanky anyway. Plus, people think the signs are SO creative...

Sorry, DB, but I luv's me some Vietnamese! Love the pho and just about everything else on the menu!

Spokane is so behind in the ethnic food eatery category, so anything from another culture is great by me!

Good pho is awesome. Bad pho is nasty. Most places I've been too were in the bad category. Homemade by someone who knows what they're doing is what I prefer. :)

Having a bowl of Pho in Seattle when it's rain and cold, hmmm...as good as your typical chicken noodle soup.

DB, what is this about Pho that you're not crazy about? a good steamy one is very tasty and healthy.

Spokane is so behind in the ethnic food eatery category, so anything from another culture is great by me!

I lived there from 1974 to 1976 out at Fairchild AFB. Same thing back then!

Your not missing much. Chinese do a much better soup. Of course noodles is a whole cuisine in itself. China and Japan have some great noodle houses. Been having a hard time localy trying to find me some good Chinese or Japanese noodle soup since I have been back stateside. Hawaii has a ton of them.

Now if you want middle eastern food man Fremont Ca. has a ton of it.

Little off topic...This restaurant is just outside Waikiki. Never dined there, but every time I drive by it, I can't help giggling. ;)

oh i like Vietnamese food of course.. just not Pho. I think Pho is kind of uninspiring to me. Soup base, noodles, and sometimes meat and veggies. Not real hard to make, not real appetizing I would say.

Make me a nice bowl of cooked food without soup base and I'll be happy.

Look at these two Vietnamese food dishes.. which one looks more appetizing ? :D
