would my sub blow if i hook up the incorrect ohms?

Subs don't blow with speakers at 2 ohms, but amps can. Make sure your amp is rated for usage at low impedances. Few home amps can handle it, lots of car amps are built for it , and larger pro audio amps usually are to.

Yes, That's what I started with, after all angles were figured out I simply covered the cardboard box with 4 layers of fiberglass.:cool:
As far as your 4-2 Ohm sub question goes, the only way you could hurt anything is if your amp is not capable of delivering a 2 Ohm signal.
