View Full Version : Urine Test - I like this idea

from email:
I HAVE TO PASS A URINE TEST FOR MY JOB... SO I AGREE 100%. Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don' t have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their A**, doing drugs, while I work. . .. . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?
Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though . ... Something has to change in this country!

Yep,, you nailed it,, if you receive benefits derived from our tax dollars,,you should have to pass randomized urine/blood drug screening---:)

Not a bad idea (although I am against urine tests by companies).

I think that is awesome! SSI could do the same thing. Except crack babies would be starving all over the place.

I agree with you there,, I ain't pissing in a cup for no corp cop. In the facility in which I work,, it's only performed if there is probable cause,, which in our case,,for nursing staff,,,narcotics come up unaccounted for,,, they all piss,,,.

Sounds like a great idea to me too..!
But... How much $$$'s is the State going to spend analyzing those tens of thousands of pee tests? I think it would be a wash. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
Don't get me started about the Indian(Native American) Reservations. 75% of the people smoke and drink but yet can't afford food for their kids.. mmmmm:confused:

I thought state aid for the poor had something to do with children?

And took away there subsistence style of living, put most on reservations that you couldnt grow **** on or hunt in a traditional manner and you wonder why they dont have enough food and abuse alcohol?

I think this would be a good idea. It could be funded by not giving American tax dollars to support illegals in the country.
Don't get me started. :p

No one can argue that we didn't mistreat the Indians, but.... it's been hundreds of years now. It's 2008. Maybe bow-hunting Bison isn't the best plan. I understand their need for community and tradition but no one's FORCING them to live on reservations; they're not Nazi camps. I've seen those reservations, there's nothing special about them (aside from their ****tiness), why can't those same people move into a more prosperous area and set up their trailer parks there, exactly? I just don't understand why all of those Indian tribes, when handed the worst land in the country, said "sure, let's live there, with no water, food, or income."
I'd love to see them all move off of those crappy things and prosper rather than living in poverty and squalor just because it's the way it's always been.

I totally support legislation like this. My Dad owns his own construction company and when a worker gets injured on the job, the insurance company requires they submit to a drug test before they can receive benefits. If they test positive or refuse the test then they get nothing. This policy has helped my Dad find better workers and limit his liability to those who deserve it.

cool, I started "one of those threads"
going back to my corner
Feel free to correct, like I said I DON'T UNDERSTAND why.I dont have the time to explain why right now, I am one of those Indians that doesnt live on a reservation and has a job that I need to go to in just a few minutes. If you truly want to understand some of the reasons simply do a little research online.

I have had to piss in the cup for all 4 of my jobs in the last 24 years, I think it would be a great idea to have anybody receiving a check for assistance to prove they are not on drugs ( Except birth control drugs....having babies while relying on the gov to support you is asinine , and they are REWARDED more money for more kids....thats even worse then the drug problem moneywise for the gov ) .

I can't even begin to elaborate, but I disagree entirely with the concept.
