I set up the DQ-10s in what I'm calling the "screening room". It is pretty much the upstairs HT (So I don't have to walk all the way downstairs to view something :D) but in 2 channel. I'm going from an oppo player to the audible illusions modulus 3a tube preamp to a soundcraftsmen 275wpc mosfet amp. This is all stuff I tried to give away/sell off at one time or another. Oh man the synergy this system/room has! Right now I have a little 15" monitor set up but I'm replacing it this weekend with a projector and will be moving the electronics to the back of the room. Other than the system the only thing in the room is a loveseat. It is the most comfortable cozy room I've been in. Not sure why but it is.

Edit: Oh yeah, can't forget to mention the polk SW350 sub and the panamax conditioner...

They are my favorite non-tube amp! You would swear there were some output tubes in the thing when you listen to it.
Oh, and I like the speaker porn... There is nothing like listening to that glorious sound coming from something that looks like a 9 year old kid built. :D

Does that conglomeration of drivers in the corner consitute a DQ-10?

Yes. They are all time aligned which is why they are on seperate pieces of board. Looking at the speaker positioning you would never think it but the image is the full height of the room with the vocals about mid level. There is certainly something that time aligned speakers give you that nothing else other that a single full range driver gives you. The soundstage is very full and lively. Normally they are on 2" wood feet with a slight upward angle or on custom 2' stands however in this room they are pretty much perfect sitting directly on the floor.

4 official ones and a few mini-systems. The DQ-10's for the screening room, the avantgards with all analog and no sand componets system for the hard core purist in me, the SDA 1.2/jolida system and the carver amazing system (in process, putting them back together right now) with similar amp as the dq10 system. There are a couple of small ones like the mini-video/accurian system and of course the old 901 bose system which may go in the basement or garage. I would like to have a 7.1 HT some day but I'm not overly excited about it. Besides, I still need to build the HT room.

A buddy of mine now has 2 pairs. One of which he just bought and another he spent many hours on mirror imaging and rebuilding x-overs. They are a remarkably ugly speaker in nekkid form, but the sound that comes out of that conglomerate of drivers and peculiar construction is sublime.
They certainly have their very own character and I could sit and listen to Jazz or Vocal music all night long. Not sure if having them jammed in a corner like that is the "best", but hey what do I know:p.
Would I give up my SDA's for them...................not a chance. But they are truly a listeners speaker. What I mean by that is they deserve your full attention and not to be used for background music while you do chores. They deserve and reward by one sitting down for a serious listening session.

That Soundcraftsmen IS bad ass, but I have kicked speakers like that out of my way walking through a garage to get to a set of SDA's that were on sale on Craigslist ;)

Definitely a "form follows function" design. I'd love to hear a pair some day, seems that the DQ-10 is one of those benchmark speakers that people refer to in listening impressions and reviews. Having just gotten a pair of single driver full range speakers, your mention of them compared to the DQ-10 kinda tickles me. Funny that you need either a bunch of drivers, carefully aligned with one another (and the requisite crossover network), or what boils down to basically a box with a driver in it, to get the image and soundstage people rave about.

I've heard the DQ-10's in several places so far. The room is everything. In some rooms they will only do the simple stuff (but very well), in other rooms they are a little weak sounding, in my old living room they were just interesting (would do oldies or dixieland/ragtime music with a passion but nothing else) BUT, in this room they are doing everything right. I'll still play around with positioning to be sure I have them at their best but believe me, I'm marking exactly where they are now, just in case.

Pure insanity! I wish I had the space for that many rigs.
Do you have pics of your AG's and tubes set up?
