First Welcome to Polk Audio Forums.

Second I'm not sure where to start here... Way too many variables here.

Does the AVR have HDMI switching (I don't think so)

Does the TV have HDMI input?

Does the ATT UVerse have HDMI (inside note here I don't know so I'm asking ;))

Do you use a programmable remote? And if so what brand / model.
(I ask this as the remove could do some switching on TV if AVR doesn't switch video)

So to sum up you what to use the highest signal input that you can use between any two devices. If the AVR can do switching all the better, but there's work around which work just as well also adding a cable here or there.

Are you using the analog(RCA) outs on your DVD player? SACD's can not be played over digital coax or optical cables. SACD's can sometimes be played via HDMI, but your player and receiver both have to be capable.

From the DVD player, run coax or optical to the receiver for audio, HDMI from the DVD player to the TV for video.

As I mentioned before, you'll also have to run RCA's from the DVD player to the receiver if you want to listen to SACD's.

I'd also recommend timbre matching all your speakers. Sticking with the same brand/line throughout for better blending/realism.
