As usual, Chris put on a good show. The Friday night show had guest appearances from Yo-Yo Ma, John Mayer, Katherine McPhee, Steven Tyler, and of course STING.

John Mayers' song was cut short due to a heart attack experienced by one of the members of the audience in the front row. A doctor in the audience worked on him till the paramedics arrived, pretty much saving his life, and the show resumed after 30 minutes.

Someone had mentioned that there is not a bad seat in the house at the Boston Symphony Hall, I have to disagree with that. Our seats were located in the rear right side corner, under the balcony above. I could hardly hear the bass and drums, it sounded like there was a giant thick curtain in front of us. In fact, I couldn't actually "see" the speakers on the right side of the stage. I can't tell you how disappointing it was to hear such crappy sound in this otherwise wonderful venue. And to make matters worse, my seat was directly behind a pillar holding up the balcony. I had to lean over to my wifes' shoulder to watch the show.

The good news is that the show was taped for an upcoming PBS special, so I'll be at least able to get the DVD when it comes out and listen to it a little better.

We tried to meet the performers after the show but the closest we got to Sting was 15 feet and we made it to within 10 feet of Steven Tyler (he's alot smaller in person). We did get to meet guitarist Mark Whitfield (he recognized us from other shows) and Billy Childs.

We spent all of Saturday in Boston. I can honestly say that I was surprised with the city. What a beautiful city!! So vibrant, so alive, so full of history and culture.....I wish I could have spent a few more days there.

Well, Joe, your show made the cut. I walked into a BB/ Magnolia today, and it was playing in the speaker rm. OUTSTANDING SQ, even though they were being played via some Klipsh bookshelves:eek::D

I hope it isn't only on BRD:o

Boston is certainly a nice city...it's the only 'real' metropolis in N.England so it serves us all the way to Maine. But having vacationed in Quebec City last year...I also have to say that that was quite nice!

I've seen Yo-Yo Ma close up after a concert as well...a very nice guy! Sounds like you had a great time.

The show is available on both DVD and Blu-Ray. I have the DVD version and it is quite good. But I'll be ordering the BD version also.

Cnh...yes, Quebec City is extraordinary. Hmmm....I'm due for another visit there too.

Joe, how soon do you think you'll be getting the BD version? I'm just curious if the SQ will qualify for a 'WOW' in difference vs. SDVD?

Umm, that was me that said that, sorry. There are only 6 partially obstructed seats in the house, all in row QQ, so I'm going to guess row QQ seat 4. Crappy luck. Good to hear you enjoyed being 'in town'!
