And my system is back up BUT my RTA's may not have survived the move totally intact.:(
At first listen they sounded fine, but now when I played them this morning I noticed that background vocals were missing, and the music just sounds off.
I will go home tonight & check all the connections, but after that I'm stuck.
I'm not about to start buying replacement parts for 18 yr old speakers that I can't figure out what is truly wrong & have no way of repairing.
Damn this rots big time!

Believe it or not...it could be caused by placement in the room and/or the dynamics of the room itself. It may be totally different from your previous place and moving them may (or may not) help. I have been suprised on a couple of occasions how just a foot or less can change the soundstage and imaging. Worth a try maybe.
If not, there are always GREAT deals on some new (used) stuff around here and I'm willing to bet someone will help you out. Good luck.

Don't get too upset. If you can turn a screwdriver you can fix them. Most likely one of the mids froze. Push gently on the woofer, and see if any are stuck.

Did the settings reset on your Sunfire?

Make sure you have the speaker cables hooked up correct, and they are not out-of-phase. It's easy to do, and on some speakers you can quickly hear the difference.
If that doesn't work, then trot on down to SpearitSound and get your listen on, or buy LSI's as you have the proper wpc for them :D

At first listen they sounded fine, but now when I played them this morning I noticed that background vocals were missing, and the music just sounds off.
Maybe the background vocals liked the other house better? :D
I'm playin' I'm playin'...seriously I think Shack-daddy nailed it. You've been so used to the acoustics in your other place, you may have to mess around with placement a bit.

Enjoy your new home Cat, I pray the Lord blesses you and your new place.
Now then, in order for your speakers to perform properly you need to use an amplifier with at least 200 wpc.
sorry.

Enjoy your new place. Speakers and cats DON'T
travel well. Why is it movers don't break glassware,
but always nail the speakers?
Take it one step at a time. Hopefully it's something simple.
Gently push in on each woofer, make sure not are seized or making a scratching noise.
Replacement only requires a philips head screwdriver.

It turned out to be a loose connection! So much for double checking all the connections! I did a quick by ear recalibration. I'll do a proper one this weekend.
I'll try to get some more pics up sometime fellas. I'm exhausted, between the move & learning a new job (after being told I was going to be laid off in Oct) I can barely see straight.
But at least I got my tunes back!:D Well mostly, I still need to get screws put into the studs on the back wall so that I can hang my back speakers. I don't know when I'll get that done!
You guys are GREAT thanks for the well wishes & help!

Congrats on the move and getting the tunes back! I've always felt that once I get the tunes hooked up, the rest of the unpacking just falls into place... :D

Congrats on your new house. Also glad the speaker issue was resolved without being costly.
And to think I was just going to fly down there and save the day like a caped crusader with an SDA under each arm ;)
Glad you got em fixed Cathy :D

Time for those Dynaudios you listened to a while back.

:D LOL! You know that is exactly what I was thinking!:D BUT, my RTA's are just fine so I don't need to go shopping.
Which is a good thing since I'm going to have to shell out over $1000.00 to buy Title insurance!
Time for those Dynaudios you listened to a while back.
