Has anyone heard the new THX intro with the strange mechanical flowers? I was spinning a disc I shall not name tonight at my usual level and DEAR GOD. There's a segment of deep bass with a mushroom on the screen that I thought was going to blow the top off my SVS 20-39CS+! And I was like -15 from reference at the time.

I was frightened for my gear, but simultaneously grinning at how amazing it was. Anyone else experienced this yet?

This is great stuff. Now how do I get this to play through my HT directly from my laptop? Is this even possible? My HK247 is equipped with a RS232 connection in the back. Can I utilize this connection or do I have to download the trailers on to a CDR/DVD R and play them on my PS3? Or better yet...can I download these from the PS3 network on to my harddrive of the PS3 and play from there?

I got a DVD with all the THX intros from the last few years on it including Grandpa Simpson yelling "Turn it up! Turn...it...up!". Unless that was on the DTS one. I got one with those on it too.

I just picked up the Lucasfilm Ltd. THX demo disc that has tons of THX vids,Dolby Digital vids, and Indiana Jones, Star Wars (old and new episodes )videos on it. I must say that it is the best thing since sliced bread. I picked it up from a dealer I know that use to sell high end audio/video. Can you believe it, he gave it to me for free!! I can take em off the dvd and convert the .vob files to .wmv or any file format you like for you all here to watch but I was wondering if that is prohibited? Does not take long to convert the files since I know what I am doing. I will get some opinions on this matter first before I post anything. I really do hope it is ok because there are so many videos and audio I have never even seen or heard on the net; like on youtube or any other video site.

**Just thought of this.....this disc was never for sale to the general public, was given to dealers of DD and THX equipment for demo purposes.**

I listened to it on the Indy Blu-ray, I don't need to hear it again. So much better demo material in movies themselves than these intros, they really don't do much.

I have alot more than just a 10-30 second intro clip. The material on the dvd I have is actually taken from the movies themselves which includes HD video and 5.1 DD or DTS. This material was chosen by Lucas himself to demonstrate the quality of his stuff.

Ok, I took the "Amazing Life" clip that is available as a free download on thx.com and converted it a couple different ways. Let me know which one you think is best (1,2,3). I did this as an experiment on my part. I used different codecs for the audio and video......I have a personal preference but just wondering what you all think since audio quality can sound different to each person.

I took an audio file that is 192kbps and redid the audio to what I thought sounded good; to improve its sound to more of an "audiophile" level. Then I converted it to 6 channel surround. I do not have a computer or home theater setup capable of playing 6 channel so I was wondering if any of you that have a capable system would tell me what you think of how it sounds and how it can be improved (that way it makes it a little easier for me next time). I have no idea how it turned out except to look at graphs and statistics.

Here is the link to the track I redid: http://rapidshare.com/files/154955779/Copy_of_steven-t.mp3.AC3.html

** The track is royalty free and the source file can be found here to verify that.**

the mushroom scene cause so much air movement that my 130 fishes in a 120gallon tank, 30' away - "jump"/change direction!:D

Yeah, the mushroom... Damn. I actually had to replay it and make sure the clip light on my Samson amp wasn't lighting up, 'cause my SVS and Buttkicker scared the hell out of me! You know that "the room just pressurized" feeling? The mushroom did it!

We just watched the new Indiana Jones movie. My wife loves the THX intro's, so I turned it up a "bit". She about jumped off the couch twice during the intro.

I've felt our Outlaw sub hit that hard, but she hasn't. It must've been the mushrooms that did it. :D
