I have a pair of Green Mountain Audio Europa monitors fed with a parasound amp/pre-amp. While the extension is decentish the bass quantity isn't enough so I am thinking about supplementing my rig with a sub.

Any thoughts?

How much "green" can you afford? ;)

Good question. The entirety of my current rig is somewhere like ~1200 dollars. So beneath that for sure. I am looking for something preferably cheap but with a great performance to price ratio. My space isn't very good (Odd shape) and I can't even really place my monitors to develop any sort of sweet spot which might be a reason for the crappy bass quantity... yet the mids and highs are clear/beautiful and natural ;p

epiksubwoofers.com or svsound.com and pick one.

Interesting with the svsound recommendation. An acquaintance is selling this: http://www.head-case.org/forums/audio-gear-sale/4585-fs-svs-pc-ultra-subwoofer.html#post164935

It seemed a bit pricey for my set up but hrmm svsound eh.

Just my recomendation, but I have a Polk Audio PSW125 that I picked up for brand new at Circuit City for $250. I am very pleased with it and it fits my setup perfect.

SVS makes some very nice subs. Keep in mind that the PC Ultra is HUGE... almost 4 feet tall and almost 1.5 feet in diameter. How big of a room do you have?

It's floor 1 in this floor plan. I think the living room portion is something like 12 by 14 to give you a sense of scale.

Is this more for music listening, or Home Theater?

go for the svs, music or movies you'd be good to go. At that price I would have pulled the trigger already.

Both :) I won't be going more than 2.1 channels for home theater though.

Agree, you should jump on it if it's in good shape.

I found my PC-Ultra on the 'gon for 800.00 plus shipping when I was looking for a SVS sub. Same price as the lower cylinder subs made it a no brainer for me. I run it with one port plugged which makes it faster for music.

Another vote to jump on the SVS if you can.

I paid $1000 for my Plus/2 and I think it's the best value I've gotten in audio.

I have the ultra in my system as well. I run it with the 1.2's for HT. I also use it with music but I haven't spent a full day with it yet to check out preferences. Winter is around the corner so I should have a saturday or two.
I highly recommend the SVS. I've had a small Velodyne, Polk, Jbl, and I still have a Klipsch and my vote is with the SVS.

Velodyne SPL or DD series. Outstanding for 2 channel yet with plenty of slam for HT.
