Taking apart R10s

Something happened last night that I don't think I could repeat if I tried 1,000 times.
I had a iPhone battery extender (looks like a black, skinny bar of soap) sitting on top of my R10s.
In the dark, I accidentally knocked the battery off the speakers.
I thought it was lying on the ground near the speakers but couldn't find it.
When I moved the speaker to look under, I heard something rattling inside.
The battery dropped off the back and the plastic backing acted like a ramp and shot it inside the speaker.
Then, when I moved the speaker it further fell into the bottom.
I removed the black plastic "cone" from the back and I can see no way to retrieve it.
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or ideas?
I'm guessing I am out of luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to remove the speakers and get it out that way. I don't know what size screws but they may be hexagon. Once out you may have to shift the speaker from side to side until you can reach your battery. Good luck and go slow as not to damage the speaker...Time to preform surgery on a Polk.

Update:

I grabbed my Hex kit, took off the front cover and worked on the bottom "exhaust"? hole which had 4 screws in it.

It slid out just enough and to my joy, there was my battery pack at the bottom.

All is well.
