Looking for recomendations on equipment this is what ive recently purchased:

DENON AVR-1906 (Reciever)
ADCOM GDA-600 (DA convertor)
ADCOM GFA-555 (Amplifier)
ADC Equalizer with/ RTA
POLK SDA-1C

Ive been told that i might need a preamp instead of using my denon receiver, but ive also been told but splitting up the equipment i run a great chance of noise distortion. Could anyone give me a little more insight?

THX!:)

I'd sell the receiver, and EQ,, buy a tubed pre and you are golden.Just my .02. Have fun,,nice rig that you got started.BTW,, you might want to replace the tweeters with the RDO replacements. :)

That Denon has pre-outs, so it will work with your amp. Get rid of the EQ.

What source will you be using the DAC with?

The Denon is a good receiver, but I have to agree with George. Get a tube preamp instead. You can find a good starter tube preamp such as a Dynaco for about $150 to $300 depending upon the condition. If you do go vintage on the preamp, at least have the caps replaced.

I have two options with the DAC, i can use it with a panasonic dvd/cd player, or an adcom GDC-575, what i would really like to use is a CD transport but can't seem to find one that is reasonably priced. I appreciate everyones help!

the denon is a good receiver? compared to what? the denon pma 2000 ivr two channel integrated amp destroys all of denon's receivers sound wise.

I've got the previous silver faced version of your denon, Dump the Eq, if you have a surround sound setup, theat denon will work fine with that amp( I had one ). If you want to seriously listen to 2 ch meterial loss the E.Q and the receiver, and get a preamp, Can't recomend tube, as the last time I heard any I was about 5( 28 years ago).

Good luck,
