Looking for a recommendation for a subwoofer with a budget of 1k and looking either at the psw1000 or New SVS PB12-Plus....Mostly will be used for 2-channel.

From the glowing reviews that came out of Polkfest, you might want to consider a DSW MicroPro sub for 2 channel.

Any comments on how musical the PSW1000 is compared to the SVS or others?

Great Buy! What color did you get? Is Fry's still selling the PSW1000 for $399? I can't find any PSW1000 listed on Frys.com and JR would honor the price for $399.

Thanks,
James

Welcome to CP James! They are out of stock today, AFIK, and the listing has probably been removed.

It was there earlier today (black only). Hmm. Hopefully J&R would honor the price even if Fry's doesn't show it in stock, which is usually a requirement.

You are welcome. I am glad you catch the deal before it is over.

If anyone else is interested, there are a few PSW1000 on the Polk Direct eBay store at the moment. The BiN price is $600, plus shipping and sales tax, but bids open at $300 ... so if you get lucky, it might still be a good deal.

And just so you know, J&R still has them for $499 both colors. ;)

I've picked it up on Sunday in Ebony. I called J&R and showed them Frys was selling it at $399 and they matched it no questions...

Looking at Fry's site, they have it listed again....and at least for my area only $40 for shipping. If I weren't about to jump on my SVS purchase....

Me too, except it looks like I just scored a Rythmik 12" sealed unit on Audiogon. I'm sure this isn't the best Polk sub, with a lower 3dB limit of 30Hz (too high), but still, that's a lot of subwoofer and LSi grade cabinet for $400 (plus tax and/or shipping)! Hopefully somebody will do an honest review of it at some point!
