Need a REALLY quick advice.

I am running LSi9s, LSiC, and FXs with 3 monoblocks from Outlaw and I have FXs sitting on Yamaha HTR-6090. I also have one Martin Logan Dynamo hooked up via "sub-out" from AVR. I am moving and my room will be expending: 13x30 with listening area about 13x16. The question is: Should I buy second Dynamo ? And maybe hook it up straight from my first Dynamo's "multi sub-out" port ?

i would do that. but i have not moved in yet and this sub that i want to purchase will not last long for $350-400

Obviously 2 is better than 1.....

Each sub will have to work half as hard for the same output in that size room

I say go for it - you will have a lot more options for placement (stacked, stereo, etc)

I second the above ... do it.

The price is certainly right...the added benefit of multiple placement to even out bass or coupled to get the extra 6db.

The chance to match up an already owned sub for about 1/2 price...yes it could end up collecting dust, though I doubt it will.

350 for spare parts, a back-up unit , or just the ticket however you choose...in this hobby we likely all have spare gear clocking time in a corner or closet.

well I ended up buying second dynamo at tweeter for $360

So now I have 3 options on hooking this up: LFE out, stereo, or a guy at tweeter sugested using LFE for one and center channel for another

I would recommend running them both from the LFE out. (use a Y cable to split the signal to each sub)

I would not recommend doing the "one on center, one on sub" configuration. Try it out stereo and split LFE. Like McLoki I'd recommend the latter...

Never hear of trying to run a sub off your center. (REALLY deep voices??) fronts maybe but not center. I stick with my original suggestion - just run stereo LFE's....

I wouldn't call him an audiofile. It's more like audiofool. You have two choices. No wonder tweeter is going down:(
A: run them both LFE
B: you can hook them up stereo, and set the source to no sub. The LFE tracks will then go to both L/R speakers. This will tax you mains heavily though, and depending on the level it could damage them.

Put one sub in the front, the other in the back. I currently have two subs set up this way for HT. Bass all over the place.

So are you saying it IS a common thing to do........to run sub from center pre-out ?

I have 0 movies and my cable box is not working, and its a big pain to for me to hook the sub up to center. This is why I cannot try it for myself at the current moment.

Of course I ment dual subs from the same input - not stereo (just got lazy in my description).

As for stacking vs separating them, that is completely room dependent. (good room for bass, stack - bad room, separate.)

If you run your center as small - you are crossing over to your subs electronically before it goes to the amps (only subs are producing bass, center is only producing above 80hz. - and yes, I know that the crossover is a slope, not a cliff and that statement is not exactly right either, but you know what I mean).

If you run your center as large with a sub in line - you are low pass filtering for the sub (blocking the highs) but your center is still trying to run full range. It will work, but the cases where it would sound better would be limited. I would think you would have more of an issue with cancellations this way as well since it would be similar to trying to run 2 different subs at the same time, something most seem to recommend avoiding if at all possible.

Anyway - best of luck in your test and definately report back what you find out.

Nice setup, add a motorized screen and a front Projector for viewing during the night hours and youre golden. Nice setup .
