Anyone have any experience or know anything about Tube Audio Design. Looking into tube pre's for a dedicated 2-channel......

Here is the website:
http://www.angelfire.com/biz/bizzyb/

Paul Grzybek is the owner, and it is an upgraded Audcom AP-120, I believe. (My Audcom AP-100 is currently for sale, because I am upgrading to a preamp with a phone stage. It has a very revealing sound, and I enjoyed it a great deal.)

You can read the reviews for the TAD-150 linked on his website. Occasionally they pop up on Audiogon, and the reviews seem quite favorable. He had a signature edition of this same preamp for a couple hundred dollars more. Unfortunately, he stopped the upgrades to this preamp when the company went out of business unexpectedly due the death of the manager.

Hi,
I have a TAD-150 Sig. I have had it about 4 years. I like it. It responds well to tube rolling, its quiet, and nice to have a remote. Some of the leds are intermittent but the line section always sounds great. The phono section is only ok. This was my first piece of tube gear. Then I got a Jolida 502 amp. Pauls amps are good too.

Tell us more. How does the TAD-150 compare to the Jolida 502?

Hi Early,
I really cant compare the two. I never had the TAD preamp hooked up to a tube amp until I modded the Jolida. The Jolida was an integrated amp until I removed the volume, balance and selector controls. So it became a power amp. The two together sound good. I can use the TAD with a B&K amp and it is much quieter than the jolida with the TAD. No biasing needed so the TAD is easy to use. The Jolida is more trougle. I will overhauling it soon.
