I wonder is because my receiver not good enough for this sub?

I have the Onkyo TX-SR806 and my PSW125 slams!! Your receiver shouldn't make that much of a difference in this equation since it is a self powered sub?? I may be wrong in my thinking, but that is how I see it. I ran my current setup (see signature) with my old Onkyo HTIB receiver, and it worked just fine. I had mine hooked up with a Rocketfish subwoofer cable and had no problems. My old receiver wasn't much different cosmetically from the one you have, but I think it pushed out somewhere around 120 watts per channel, not sure that would make a difference though, hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can give you a better answer.

Check your settings on your receiver.

I'm not going to pretend that I know the answer here, but am just throwing out some more questions that may lead someone else to the answer.

1) How is your computer output being fed to the receiver? L/R RCA or optical?
2) Are your other speakers soft also or do they play fine when the input comes from the computer?
3) Does your sound card support 5.1 surround?
4) Could you try to use the speaker level inputs or L/R line level inputs on the PSW125 instead of the LFE input and see if that makes a difference?

By the way, it shouldn't matter at all what kind of internal amp your receiver has. Before my Onkyo receiver came in, I hooked my PSW505 up using the L/R RCA out from my TV and the sub was very loud! No receiver needed, just an input signal. You can even run a mini-jack to L/R RCA cable from a CD player or MP3 player and you should get sound from the sub. (another member here on the forum helped me with that tip but the name escapes me right now)

***Kex is the one that helped me with that tip. Thanks again :) ***

Is this one of those recievers that has the "double bass" function?

I have to use that on my Onkyo...
