There are very few receivers capable of driving the 4Ω LSi properly (4Ω speakers are harder to drive than the standard 8Ω speaker). I would highly recommend NAD, which I also own, and, unusually for a receiver, they are rated as low as 2Ω. I continue to be astonished by the sheer dynamics of my NAD receiver, even when compared to entry level seperates.

For that price, you only have two options that I can think of:
- The NAD T754, which I have, with no HDMI capability, which is $500 refurbished.
- The NAD T755, which does have HDMI, but will cost $900 refurbished.

Other than that, some will recommend entry level seperates, since the C.W. would have it that seperates always have more real power, but I had a very mediocre experience with those before I got my NAD receiver, and you don't have many choices at $800.

Like I said before, there are very few that can do it. The Onkyo is OK, and I think, unusually, it may even have a 4Ω setting, but does not have the reputation NAD has for 4Ω capability and with the Onkyo you would be strongly advised to buy an external amplifier as well. You will notice that the specifications for the Onkyo only list 8Ω and 6Ω output levels, whereas the NAD lists 8Ω, 4Ω and 2Ω. If you don't like NAD, try Rotel, or Emotiva seperates (you would then need a pre-pro and an amplifier).

Your amp does not have pre-out connections on the back so an external amp looks like a no go with your receiver. I would go with the NAD receiver mentioned earlier .

Your 304 does not have pre-outs so NO. Those referb prices kex gave out look pretty good. Probably the best deal on new sperates I think would be one of the Emotiva amps that are on sale.
The XPA5 5 ch amp rated to drive 4 ohm loads @350W all 5 ch. @400W 3 ch.
The UPA7 7 ch amp rated to drive 4 ohm loads @185W all 7 ch.
The XPA3 3 ch............3 ch 4 ohm 300W all 3 ch.
The XPA5 is on sale $699 the UPA7 and XPA3 both $599 the best part is free shipping. Then pick up an entry level AVR with pre-outs like a Yamaha 663 you can probably get for about $400 (shop around). Also look at the Pioneer (VSX-1018AH-K), and Marantz (SR4003). You might find a deal on the Pioneer, I think usually the Marantz always seem to be MSRP, in this case $550.

But if you catch "free shipping" and maybe avoid sales tax you should be able to stay in the $1200 range.

Then there's always used, I would not hesitate to buy a used amp, pre-pros and receivers would depend a lot more on price. They become outdated a lot faster.

I like the Outlaw RR2150 Stereo Receiver also. It's $699 and it will drive 4 ohms.

10ga will fit in the LSi binding post (and of course bannanna work well also) so you are not limited by guage.

With a decent amp and pre/pro your LSi's should be able to show you the benefit of decent cables. What is your budget and intended uses. If just for home theater, I would get some 12ga. wire and decent bananna plugs (GLS are pretty good for the price - available from E-bay. I have tried both and the locking are worth the extra money)

If for mainly music - the sky is the limit. I have heard MIT cables and they sound very nice (are a bit pricey even used though). Signal cable is a great brand as well for a much lower entry fee than MIT. Their are a TON of options though and before we start exploring any of them, we need to know if you are even interested....

I purchased 10ga wire from blue jeans cable on the cheap. For home theater, it sounds great. I am slowly moving twords MIT though (as the used deals come along). I plan to stay with 10ga blue jeans cables for my rear speakers though. (since I already have them and they are in-wall rated)

I purchased 10 white (http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm). Then again - it was only $0.47 per foot when I got it. I was able to cable my entire theater for under $40.00 at that price.

In the grand scheme of things - it is still pretty cheap.....
