Hello all! First post, didn't even know this forum existed, so much awesome info.
I am looking to buy a center channel. Here is my setup:
2 RTiA7s as my fronts
2 RTiA3s as my rears
DSW Pro 500 Sub
Harman Karon AVR-347 sub
I want to get something sleek to hang below my wall mounted LCD.
Do you think the VM20 is a good option for center? That is the one I have my heart set on. Some input from you guys would be great.
Also, I might want to switch to the FXi series for my rears. We don't listen to music, so it'd be for movies and cable tv.

Your best bet would be an in wall speaker which voice matches the RTi line. Do not switch lines to the VM20.

You really want your center channel to be from the same line as your main speakers. In your case, that would be the CSiA4 or 6. (the 4 would be smaller)
If you really do not like the looks of the CSiA4, you could always keep running in a 4.1 configuration like you are now.
I do not think the VM line would be a good match at all. (to the point I think it would sound better without a center channel like you have now.)

i work at fry's electronics and the audio guys were emphatic about me going with the VM20 saying it would blend well..guess not
That poor bird.
If the VM isn't a good blend, are you able to return it?
I'm also for the idea of 4.1, in most(not all) cases, center channels are over rated.

Aw shoot the bird put him out of his misery:eek:
I agree go without a center plus it will sit way to high unless you are using tall seats.;) Man I would get a crick in my neck looking up at that TV:)
Welcome to the forum.

All for the 4.1 and if that is not an option go for a matching center with your current speakers. And if those guys at fry's told you you would be fine with the VM then they need to find a new job IMO.

I don't think I can return it, but I will be getting a good deal, only $150 for brand new one.
I think I need to readjust my receiver. I am not getting a swirling surround sound effect when I watch movies. People with crappier setups have a better sounding system then mine. I thought maybe the center was the missing piece. I don't get real good separation of sound. I'm using a Harman Kardon 347
Check to make sure none of your speakers are out of phase.
