I had blown my psw404 last weekend and replaced the whole thing at CC, The first one i noticed had chrome feet and i was like wow this will be nice for moving around, well when i took the new 404 home and out of the box it had plastic feet that are raised up alittle, The chrome slugs on the first sub were surface mounted and real short, and seemed more durable to moving on carpet then these cheap plastic raised feet that i could see snaping off if this heavy sub were moved any distance....

To all the 404 owners, what does your 404 have?????I know this is being totally anal, but i really liked the idea of the metal feet on the bottom,

cheap plastic ones here. I was hoping to find a place where I could get some spikes to replace them with. Still not sure i want to keep it, but moved it to another spot (actually moved everything in the room) and the humm is less noticeable.

Maybe you have a different problem, The hum shouldn't be that loud to be relocating things to mask the sound. My hum is never heard unless the house is silent and i really listen. I wouldn't get rid of the sub for a reason maybe not related to the usual hum us 404 owners have grown used too, maybe a diff problem in your case, Its a nice sub

the hum isn't bad unless it's late and all the neighbors are sleeping so I'm the only one making noise. hell I got used to the sound of my tivo so this really isn't that big of a deal. i think it just bothered me because the velo never made a peep I didn't want it too. Now it's a more performance issue, so far so good.
