Hello, guys...
This is my first post, so be gentle...:)
I am about to purchase a home theater system, and I intend to purchase a Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K receiver, along with 2 Polk Ati a3's, a Csi a4, a DSWpro 400, and 2 Ati a1's for the rears for a 5.1 system. My question is, how will the a1's do for rear/surround speakers? Is there another better way to go for rears in a 5.1 system, or are these OK?
Thanks, Puzz

RTI A1's or FXI a4's are both two good surround speakers. The rti a1's are better for all stereo music and for movies the fxi series does a better job.

Some people prefer the dipole/bipole configuration of the FXi A4's for surrounds. If you're listening to primarily music though the RTi A1's may be better suited.
The best way to decide is to go and listen to them though if there's anywhere around that you can go and demo them.

If you can pick up the fxia4 from Polk eBay direct- about $150/pair. I really like them, even when listening in 7.1 stereo for music.

Well, I ordered the system detailed in my first post of this thread, and the speakers arrived today. Holy Smokes! These things are beautiful, and heavy!
If they sound as good as they look, this is gonna be great. Unfortunately, no one has my reciever choice in stock (at least at a decent price) so I guess I'll have to wait a while to hear them...
