Oay...

I got about $150 in cash and about $150 of my own...and $150 in BB gift cards

Should I get the Oppo HDMI switch and cables needed to hook up my new LCD, or should I get Movies for the new BR player....OR, get an AVR to play with all of the above

Whadaya think ?

get the AVR then I don't think you'll need the Oppo HDMI switch box.

IF, repeat IF you can scrape up another $150, I'd get the Pioneer VSX-1018TXH @ BB.
($599)

Don't lock yourself into BB for the reciever. Prices suck. You can get the 663 from 6th ave for about $350 if you call., it does the HD codecs you want. Then spend the BB cards on music or movies.

BB sucks...how they call themselves " Best Buy " I'll never know...newegg has that Pioneer ( Perfect for you Robert...since their non elite players do hdmi audio now...used to just be pass through...this is a great receiver ) for only 429 AND has free shipping on it

He has 300 cash...and 150 bb credit...Id say use the bb for bluray discs and just wait for a few more bucks to add to the 300 and get the newegg receiver

Newegg only 429 and free shipping...bb is 599 ....be like throwing his bb credit in the trash...and that receiver is perfect for him

Did anyone happen to notice the designation difference between BB and newegg?
BB's is -TXH-K, and Newegg's is -AH-K? Looks the same to me?

I don't think we are missing anything. He has $150 in BB cards. If he pays $170 more at BB, what did the cards gain him? Absolutely nothing, it's like throwing them away.

Neweggs is the actual retail designation... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/HomeEntertainment/AV-Receivers/PioneerReceivers/ci.VSX-1018AH-K.Kuro ...listing for 599 on Pioneers website and in numerous forums. BB tends to have some part numbers ( Like Costco ) that are different then the standard retail releases. They are the same .

You might be able to sell the BB card to a friend or coworker for cash value.
