POLK RT1000i?

How do they sound?

HOw are the highs?

Would it be better to buy a separate subwoofer and a set of rti10's or rti12's or buy a set of RT1000i's without a sub?

Am about to buy a set of rti10's and I'm curious about what you think of the RT1000i's, in case the sale falls through.

I had some 2000i's in the front and the 1000i's in the rear at one stage, the only differance was the better bass in the 2000i's.

They are great sounding musically but I always thought they could do with an extra mid range like in the 55i's. Musically they are quite good really in the top end the tweeter is one I have always been fond of. Just dont expect too much from the subs in them, they are able to provide an extension to the front left and right signals but dont run a edicated sub out line to them, as fronts with a seperate sub they do very well.

It has been some time since I had them but still have the 55i's which have the same tweeters and similar crossovers and think they were one of the better series Polk did.
