Ok, they sound so good in the backyard I decided to take them camping with me. I have a vintage motor home with an Alpine equipped outdoor sound system powered by an 80's era Old School HIPHONICS high current 2 x 100w amp at 4 0hms. Serious amp, can be driven to 1 ohm. Atrium 60's rated to 125 w at 8 ohms

Sounds good but worry about any longterm damage to either.

Polkies, lets hear from you!

Thanks! Pete

I'd imagine it would be alright. It just wouldn't be pushing as much power when being driven into an 8 ohm load. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong though.

Amps don't push ohms, they push wattage. Speaker resistance is rated with ohms. Any amp capable of pushing into a 1 ohm load won't even notice the 8 ohm load of your Atriums and the 100 watts @ 4ohms will be around 50 WPC @ 8ohms.

No worries.
