Hello, I have 2 Polk/MOMO 12s and will be getting an Autotek MX-1300 this week. How do I go about breaking in my subs? Should I run it at 4 ohm? 2 ohm? Should I put HP and LP filters on?
Also I have an LED rockerswitch and I was told this is is firehazard if you dont set it up right...my question is how do I set this LED rockerswitch up to my remote and not have to worry about burning my car down?
Lastly... should I put (drill) ports in my back panel in my car to let more sound come through into the car?

That is the specs for the MEAN MACHINE MX-1300

Any help is appreciated.

Matt,
Definitely use the low pass filter on the amplifier, You don't want the woofers reproducing information above 90 Hertz.
To achieve a 2 Ohm load simply parallel both woofer connections together at the "bridged" terminals at the amp.
Regarding the remote turn on... are you using the factory radio or do you have a aftermarket unit?? You can attach the remote on wire to the power antenna connection as long as this wire is active in the cassette, or cd mode. Then install a 1/2 amp fuse in series with the wire. This will protect the radio, amplifier, and vehicle. If you have to resort to the "switched" connection method then install a a fuse in the supply line as well.
Venting the rear panel so that the bass will have greater impact
can make all of the diiference in bass quality. Just make sure not to disturb or interfere with any structural supports. You can also use the factory speaker cut outs as a vent if they are pre- installed. Or cut out a 4" to 5 1/4" round opening and install a grille over the opening for a cosmetic thing.

Happy Installing!!
