as a former employee of circuit city i would say wait untill the end of the month... and try to grind down the price. U should be able to. Also... an open box tv without a warranty is pretty risky. because they are going out of business.... they wont be able to honor it.

52" xbr5 for that price is amaaazing. I got my kds-60A3000 for that price only about a year ago- and the main reason I didnt' get the xbr4 at the time was the 1500 bucks more for 8" less... damn, if I would have waited a year I could have gotten this!

Doesnt it still have a manufacture warranty for a year from the date of purchase?

The only thing I can add is that from now on- i'm getting that extended warranty they always try to push on you. I always thought it was worthless, but I have a friend who bought the xbr2 when it came out. After a while it started having this problem with a blue/green glow on the right side. He waited and waited to get it fixed and I kept telling him to do it but he was too lazy.

By the time he finally did, the xbr6 line was already out. They told him the price to fix it (replace the panel or something) would be almost as much as a new one- so they gave him the FULL price he paid for it in credit on a new tv. so for like 600 bucks difference he got a brand new 52" xbr6. Lucky mofo.
