Saw this on soundstage.com's coverage of a 2008 hi-fi show in Munich, Germany....

25 watts/channel stereo integrated amp. Expensive though.

May be expensive, but that sure has a great look! I think tube is going to make a resurgence like tie-dye and the Volkswagen Beetle.

Looks like it may be a Hybrid?

The amp or the Volkswagen Beetle? :-)
The speakers remind me of the norhs http://www.norh.com/ Wonder if they might be the amp and/or speaker OEM...?

I saw some Sherwood stuff at a HT setup and they are really trying to think out side the box and come up with new and improved ideas. I was impressed. Only problem is they have a lot to prove to gain customer approval IMHO. Just my 2 cents.

Their older stuff has plenty of customer approval with me... they could re-introduce a piece or two from their history; it worked for Marantz and McIntosh :-)

I do agree about their older stuff. Well built (component wise) and nice sound. But we are talking about some time ago.

Sherwood under the high end brand "Newcastle" was good stuff....maybe still around. Was made in England in the late 90's

Sherwood Newcastle components are still available, although I doubt they're built in the UK nowadays. After all, Sherwood's parent company is Korean.
I know the regular Sherwood components don't get much mention on this forum, but I find them to be very capable. No, they are not Denon or Onkyo, but nor do the Sherwood pieces priced like those brands either. My $80.00 Sherwood RD-4109 stereo receiver is doing a great job in my bedroom system and I think it's an excellent buy.
Back to the original topic....I think the last mass market brand messing around with tubes was Panasonic....Panny had a car receiver with tubes several years back.
