Hey guys, I am pretty young too young to know much about turntables if thats even what the correct term is but I got one from my grandma not
long ago with a huge box of records from likes of ACDC, Boston, Kiss and I am really pumped. There is just 1 problem the player is really quiet. I have a Sansui 1000x hooked up to Infinity Qe's and it barely makes any sound at all.

Do you know what might be the cause of this?

Thanks

Do you have the turntable (yes correct term) plugged into the phono out jacks? Turntables have very low output voltage and need a phono stage to boost the signal to proper levels for the amp. Also make sure to attach the ground wire from the turntable to the receiver. It won't effect volume but might stop an annoying buzz/hum from happening. Good luck.

Could be the RCA plugs are oxidized, try to clean them up till they're nice and shiny. If you have both MM & MC inputs or a switch, try changing between the two. Might also be the stylus/cart. are bad, it's never a bad idea to install a new stylus anyway.(if you can identify it and locate one)Your Grandma must be a cool lady to have owned the LPs you mentioned !!:)
