Keep ADCOMS or New EMOTIVA'S

I currently have a GFA 7500 and a 5400. I have liked them alot. But the upgrade bug has hit and I'm getting a new Pre/Pro. Either the Marantz 8003 or Integra 9.9.
Would the amp change improve what I have ? I would get the XPA-5 and XPA-2.
I also will need a new blu ray. Have any of you tried the new Marantz or Integra offerings?

I also had a thought about which models to get.
the XPA-5 looks great but on the XPA- 2, overkill for rear surrounds?
So I was thinking about just the UPA-2. But I would lose the XLR inputs how important are they? I aslo thought the UPA-7 would work but less power then I already have.
any thoughts. Thanks

Emo has great gear for the price and comes with a warranty. I had a 7500, and a 5400 both are great cheap amps that can drive very low impedance speakers like LSI's. I am not a huge fan of newer Adcom's aside from the 5800, and 5802. Not all amps are designed to take advantage of balanced inputs;) Most of the lower priced units just convert the balanced signal to an unbalanced signal within the amp. Longer runs can take advantage of balanced cables. You can run good unbalanced cables at 8 feet no problem. IMHO EMO would be a lateral move especially if you were wanting to be able to drive low impedance speakers in the future.

If you go with that pairing, definitely put the XPA-2s on the mains. Use the XPA-5 for the rest. The XPA-2 is a different, better design than the XPA-5--its not just 3 less channels.

x2. The XPA-2 would be better suited driving your mains, with the XPA-5 taking care of the surrounds/center channel.

Get the XPA-3 which is currently on sale for $150 off and is the same power rating all around.......I don't see the reasoning for having 50wpc more to whichever speakers you have hooked up to the XPA-2.

lol the only difference isnt 50 watts. It excells in 2-channel performance and will really give an extra oomph for your speakers compared to the XPA-5


But i will agree if your not wanting to spend alot the XPA-3 is a powerhouse! I love mine

If your going with the Marantz then get amp with XLR inputs. From there you can decide on which amp to go with. Most power needed is in the front 3 speakers.
