Added an amp to my HT and it makes some background static...

At one point I thought it was music. Sounded like some Beyonce trash. Now this receiver I'm using is connected to a million sources including TV, PS3, XBOX 360, computer, HD DVD so I'm wondering how do I stop this madness! I hate anything but dead silence when I hit the mute button.

My amp IS underneath my cable box if this has any bearing...anything I should check? I even tried a ground plug adapter thing (3 prong to 2 plug) and it didnt help any.

Ideas polk folks?

whoops, mods can delete this post. I swapped in some new ICs and it seems the sound went away. How odd....must be some poor shielding.
