The Big Boss (AKA Vice President/Owner of my company) has asked me to put together a HT for him.. Yikes :) It's for his newly finished basement and big screen projector setup. I finally got some budget numbers out of him, so here it is.

I need the best AVR for around $200 I can get.

I need the BEST tower speakers for around $300. I was thinking about the RTi8's, but I am totally open to other ideas.

Later next month, I will need a good Center Channel (Depending on the mains obviously) and a sub.

So.... who has anything in the closet they are wanting to move? Lay it on me fellas! Remember, this is all entry level stuff, just something to get him started and rolling. I asked him about listening to stuff to see what he likes, but he isn't that picky he said! Ha. Anyways, what do ya have, and what would fit the bill here?

Cheers!

I might have something for you ;). But I need to know your location. Shipping cost for RTi8 is way too much.

I can lay out an entire matching LS system:

LS50 fronts
cs350 LS center
2 pair LS f/x surrounds

All in black, includes original manuals and sales brochures. I have spare tweeters and woofers if that is ever a problem.

$650 shipped to his door.

I've had the rx-v2500, and it was a very good receiver, original retail was $1100. Maybe he meant 2900(?) If that is the case, and you can get it for $200, jump on it.

Oh, and as far as the processing on that receiver, fuggetaboutit. Just use the dvd/blu-ray player as the processor, and employ the 8 channel analog outs. Letting the source do the decoding is a much cheaper way to keep up with the latest tech.

Did some research on these. We might have something going here! Shoot me some pics and stuff and I will get you a PM. I assume everything is in top shape?

Also are the LS f/x bi/pole? Similar to the LSi f/x's?

Thanks!
