I was looking for speaker cables a week or so ago and saw people advertising a type of cable with Speakon to Speakon connectors. I have never seen a speakon connector. does anyone have a picture and an idea as to why and where you would use them? Thanks. Luis Pernia

Speakon connectors are not normally seen in home audio circles except for rare occasions. They are normally used in professional (concert)systems for the durablity and the turn and lock ability. Wouldn't want a speaker being disconnected during a music concert! I have one on my sub and use it only because it came with it.

I use it for my REL Storm subwoofer.

nice Hawkeye. I thought I am the only one, and Janmike around here who believe in REL. B1 is a nice REL. What do you pair it with?

Right now it is paired with the Martin Logan Spire with only 2 channel. It blends very well with them except for the size! I do believe the Speakon wire is the key. I've one lead to each amp, ground to the pre and and it does seem to take the "flavor" of the amp.
I'm seriously considering a pair of Fathoms 113 in the near future or a pair of MLs Descent i's to match the new CLX speakers which I'm trying to talk the war dept into.
