They're MAY be a couple to send out for exclusive Club Polk demos if you people can behave yourselves....if that's even possible. That's only after Russman and I get to tear them up beforehand :)

Thats cool! Doing 5.1 for puters sucks! Can you add me to the list?
Thanks

I had the chance to test this product, and I was very impressed! Compared to my Sony XBR LCD, which has good sound for a TV, this thing rocked. It's on the list to get for my parents as the perfect simple and good sounding way for them to get better sound in their TV room without going to a full blown HT system.

I'm interested . I was looking on the website and was wondering how it would compare to my BOSE 321 system I HAD in my bedroom.

I would love to compare these to my vintage sda/srt speakers.

A wireless sub and a way to get surround without running wires under the rug and hanging speakers off the walls? I think they nailed it with that combo.

Is the SurroundBar unit the same one we heard in the demo at HQ? Al told me the SurroundBar needs to be in front of a flat wall. Would it completely kill the SDA/surround if it were corner loaded?

No, it's smaller. It's not wall dependent but I'm sure the room, as with anything, would be a factor.

If you have it coming near Toledo, I am in. My girlfriend hates my setup now and if things are going any further I have to fix that. The great thing about her though is she is will to give to receive...

dkg999,

Looks like you have the same system I am considering. Economy is tough and I wanted your input on using a soundbar until I can make the big purchase. I have a 46 sony in a 13x30 room. Sony is wall mounted with seats approximately 10 back from mounting wall. Thinking maybe to use soundbar on alt tv when I move up. Your thoughts...........

Thanks

you have to be kidding, makes it sort of a no brainer at 499.00. The demo bar at the Fest was awesome.

In that size room you might consider going with an AVR and the 46" SurroundBar, rather than the IHT. You could then also add a sub connected to the AVR. I think this would fill your room better. The IHT would work in my opinion, but would not be as optimal in that room, at least for a really good HT experience based on what I look for.

See that Polk's ebay direct has original 42" w/sub on auction starting at $299. The 50" model is only offered as new. Wondering if the original 42" is worth considering w/ my 46" Sony. I am up for a new onkyo 706 or 806 receiver so it looks like 42 or 50 is the way to go. Also wondering if soundbar will process HD Audio(True Dolby) from Onk-- is an HDMI port required on the soundbar? Quite a difference in price considering the auction option for the 42. If anyone is using the 42 in a 15X30 room, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks all

Went and listened to soundbar 50. Think I will wait and save my money for LSi package. No HD Audio and surround is pretty limited for sure. OK if no desire for more effective HT system but I guess I am spoiled by starting my search with LSi 9's and 7's. Listened to them again after the soundbar and they sound sweeeeeet.

I believe the 50" to be much better than the smaller 42"....I've owned all of them. No HDMI requirement, it(SB50 & SB42) has binding posts like a regular speaker.
