I hooked up Wii to Onkyo 805 and I noticed the screen is shaking a little. Plus letter is blurry and messed up. Whats up with that and can it be fixed?

HDMi is hooked to tv from receiver "out". Is this why Wii is shaking because of hdmi??

yea i know this is not onkyo forum, but want to ask polkies if any1 know solution

I don't use a Wii. But I would ask if you're just using the HDMI pass through or upconverting through the Onkyo. The 805 only upconverts to 720p that could be a problem.

I'm not that familiar with the Wii. But isn't the Wii a SD 480i/p output? With a Wii you're probably best just hooking it directly to the TV via RGB component cables--in fact doesn't the Wii only have RGV--do you have that hooked up RGB to the Onkyo (if so I think the Onkyo only deinterlaces 480i to 480p and then sends that over HDMI and there could be a problem with that entire chain)

, you really don't gain anything through HDMI (except audio, I suppose, and one cable operation if that's important to you). I have heard of issues with the Wii and Onkyos. I'd contact Onkyo directly or maybe even check their site for reviews of such issues?

Sorry if this post isn't as helpful as it should be.

My Wii will only hook up thru composites. At least I haven't seen anything else.

I am hooking up component wires too.

Is there anyway i can set onkyo 805 to 480i for WII only? I tried find it on manual and nothing. I will contact tech support on monday 9am to 5pm.

But if anyone got solution, please do share.

If you're not getting an HD signal from the Wii, then why pay for the components? Not an asshole ?, just wondering.

Why pay? It's like maybe $20 for the special cord because there is that special connector on the back of the Wii. Anyway, component is used because my AVR will at least upconvert the 480P(?) max res of the Wii to 1080p via component. I can't do that using the composites.

Wii is not HD gaming. Im using the wire it came with wii??

thats why my screen is little shaking becuz i suspect HDMI has do somethign with it. I will try and play around wii setting and 805 settings to see if modification will stop the shaking. Well shaking is not that bad but annoys at the first time, i guess eyes will get used to it when playing few games.

See I don't own an AVR or anything Multichannel that processes/upscales anything, except for my Tosh XA1, PS3, and XBOX 360/hd dvd combo...none of which will read the Wii or Gamecube discs. I'm sure that my HDTVs won't do anything but use the signal they receive. Not a big HT guy, here. My 2.1 HT works pretty damn good for me.
