Sorry guys, I know this has been asked already, regarding good IC's. I have an Amp coming in this week, but havent ordered "Premo" cable's yet. Can anyone recomend a decent store- bought RCA from say Radio Shack or Best Buy i can grab real quick until i get the good cables? (No Monster).

If you are looking for something to "make do" that aren't M*, then I know at one time BB carried AR brand cables. A decent "make do" cable that's reasonably priced.

Agree with H9, the AR line of cables is respectable and relatively inexpensive.

Ugg...I found AR worse than the rest, I would rather use Rat Shack cables.

My last experience with AR was with one of their subwoofer cables. Once installed, my sub would no longer turn on by itself. I had to boost the gain in my AVR by 5+ for it to turn on by itself, and even then, it wouldn't work all the time at low volumes.

I've never used them.........but have heard good things about them. I mean come on, it's a bare bone entry level cable he's looking for. Sort of a space saver spare........good enough to get the job done for a very short time. Atleast that's what I get from his post. If these are going to be longer term then I'd have some other suggestions.

But as Face says................Rat Shack are just as good and I guess in his opinion better :)

Yes, this would be a temporary solution, seeing the Amp will arrive before any cables ordered, and was just anxious for a quick hookup.

The AR's suck. There is no life to them. For a real cheap IC check out mono prices RG6 style IC's, and from there the sky is the limit.

What brick and mortar store can one walk in and get these? He stated he needed some quick cables available at a local store. I could come up with a whole list from on-line sellers.

I know. I had AR cables, and I would just assume use the 99 cent pieces that came with whatever is in the house till he could order something. Another option would be to look online to find a local AQ dealer. Their lower end stuff is pretty decent.

Looks like Mass would be the closest option:( RatShack gold series isn't that cheap either.

I am in the same boat. My amp is due to arrive Tuesday to power my SDA-2B's in my HT, and I need an IC ~6 feet long.

Any more suggestions on a good cheapo?

What about these Audioquest Alpha-Snake for $25.80 shipped? Good deal for a low budget cable?

Conrad, not nearly a good enough deal, although less of a rip-off than much of their other wire. Even at that price level we shouldn't encourage fantasy operations such as AQ, Monster, etc. with our money.

For your simple needs the MonoPrice item here (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021803&p_id=2864&seq=1&format=2) can't be beat regardless of price.

Speaking from experience, Monoprice interconnects are great if you like to listen to your speakers with a blanket over them.
