Hey,
I have a denon 1920 dvd player which is equiped with upconvert so it naturally has a HDMI port. But my denon 3802 reciver does not have a HDMI port so I have to run sound through a optical cable to the denon. I have the video outputing through componet because of lack of HDMI cables. Is there any point in spending 60 bucks on an HDMI cable or am I getting the same picture through the componet cables.
Thank you,
Kevin

First I wouldnt spend $60 on and HDMI cable. Go to monoprice.com and get one for around $5.00 plus shipping. There is NO difference in HDMI cables..

Probably wont see much of a difference in upscaling over component or HDMI.

But for less then $10.00 dlvd for and HDMI cable its atleast worth having it hooked up to the best possible cable.
