I recently upgraded from Monitor 50's and a CS2 to the Rti A3's and Csi A6. I also upgraded from the onkyo HT-R540 to the 706. These upgrades made a significant difference with everything that I play on my system (movies mainly).
I was smart enough to upgrade from the crappy wire that came with my HTIB initially and got 200' of monster standard 16 gauge for $50. It has served me well to this point but now that I have some better gear it might be beneficial to have some better wire. I have monoprice banana plugs on the monster wire right now to use on whatever wire I choose to upgrade to.
I am looking at monoprice 12 gauge, Blue Jeans Cable, Signal Cable, and Cable Solutions 02X series.
First of all is it okay to use different cables for the front three speakers than the rears? I would like to get 40 feet of more expensive cable for the fronts and run monoprice to the rears.
I see Blue Jeans Cable reccomended a lot on here so i'm leaning towards it. Blue Jeans has many cable offerings. Which cable is best? Price doesn't matter much because I will probably only get 40 feet.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'd like to rid myself of monster cable!
