I was just wondering what center speaker would go well with RC85i front speakers. I do not have a space for an in-wall center speaker unfortunatley.

Also, would the RC65i or the RC 55i make better rear speakers?

thanks for any help!

The RC85i is voice matched to Polk's Monitor series. The best center speaker to use would be either the CS1 or the CS2. The CS2 would be the better choice of the two though...it's a bigger center channel, and would be able to keep up a little better. You could also look into either the CS10 or the CS20, which are basically the same center channels as the CS1 and CS2, but are the newer versions of them. They cost a little more though.

As far as the surrounds go. The RC65i would probably be the better choice of the two, because it's a little bigger, has slightly higher power handling etc. I see the RC85i is only 50 bucks more than the RC65i though. If you can spring for a little extra money, a second pair of RC85i's would be the best way to go.

edit-where are my manners? Welcome to Club Polk.:D

Thanks, I am ready to get my system up to date!

Hmmm, I'm into doing all four the same, but my next question would be...should I buy something different for my from speakers and move the 85i's to the back?

You could go that route if you wanted to. They don't make any in-walls that are bigger than that though. You could look into getting a pair of Monitor 50's, 60's or 70's which are all floorstanding units. If you want to go the bookshelf route, the Monitor 40's would work as well.

Any of the TSi series speakers would work too. They're just the newer versions of the Monitor series...basically the same sound, but they look a little nice IMO.

Ok, so this is what I've decided on:
RC85i-front and back
CS20
PSW110
Thoughts??
