I got the trailer I posted from Apple. I put up the 720p version so people with older computers can watch it. Just double click on the video and it will go full screen. The original was a great way to start off and this looks to continue with the ultra coolness factor. Nothing like top notch special effects.......in the original I love the part near the end when a missle is coming and the robot dives over it and then blasts his gun at the ground to flip over Ms. Hotness. My windows almost blow out during that scene, lol.

I got the DVD from my fiance and I later bought the bluray on black friday, so I had the opportunity to compare the two.
I don't think you'll be suprised when I tell you the bluray looks and sounds amazing. The first thing I noticed was the opening shot of the All Spark. On the bluray, details came out that I had never seen before. There were valleys and water and little touches that were hidden in the DVD.
The sound difference hit me during the marine base scene. It was clearer with more impact in both the highs and lows. There was a certain "snap" to the metallic sounds during the transformation to a robot and the subsequent mayhem that ensued.
Overall, a great bluray (and DVD).

My 16 year old is real excited about this one (as well as my self). She loved the first one, and is a big fan of bumble bee (I couldn't find the ultimate bumble bee for her for christmas. so if you have an extra laying around let me know). I put the first one on all the time. It could be on the top of my all time re-watchable films (there are just so many good lines to re-watch). Who know Micheal Bay could make a great film?!?
Hopefully the second will be as good as the first.

I loved the first one. It was AWESOME!!!! This one is so awful. It's been a Loooooooooong time since I've walked out on a movie. It's choppy, bad acting, bad crass jokes, lowest common denominator writing. Just awful. I can't believe that it's made by the same people. The person I went with wanted to leave before I did.

As long as it is Optimus Prime kicking ass - Im there!

It's Michael Bay for crying out loud! What can we really expect? The first one was a novelty; people that grew up in the eighties (myself included) got a kick out of seeing the franchise on the big screen. When I saw it in the theatres I enjoyed it, despite some of the squirm worthy dialogue and pre-school humor. I have to say, when I rented it to watch a second time I only got half way through. I felt silly watching it. There is no doubt it's a great HT showcase movie, but anything more beyond that? Not really. I'm sure Revenge of the Fallen isn't much worse. We all know Michael Bay's MO, pull up his filmography, it's a greatest hits package of meaningless action pictures with cheese ball dialogue and cliché after cliché. There are lots of people that enjoy this type of thing, that's why he's a millionaire. Just don't expect anything more from him... ever!

I am going to go watch it tonight. If the movie has plenty of action, and the special effects are good. I should be satisfied. However I am disappointed with the reviews, and was looking forward to this movie. I just hope its not as bad as most people say it is.
This movie was awesome.
Anyone who does not like this obviously doesnt know what Transformers is about.
I've seen most of the cartoons and Michael Bay stayed very true to the cartoon theme. Anyone who has watched the cartoons knows those are bad. Thats not why you watch Transformers.
You watch Transformers to watch big ass robots transformer into cool things and kick alot of ass. Simple as that.
This movie delivered on those two things and then some...
There was a little bit of story --- just enough to fill in the holes between all the ass kicking and big robots.
Yep, Im happy. Ill buy it and probally see it 2 or 3 more times! :)

I grew up with the original Transformers. Watched the cartoons. Read the comic books. I know what Transformers is about. This move is the worst movie I have seen in a long time. If you liked it, great. ( but there's no hope for you ) :D
Ah...
I knew what to expect. I took my brain out and watched some serious Decepticon ass kicking.
They totally under-utilized Devastator though.
But, thats ok! :)

Along with every other new robot that was introduced. That's my main gripe of the whole movie, I wont go into to much detail yet but whats the point of bringing in all the new bots if not going to use them for more than back ground stand ins? And Soundwave I won't even go into how big a disappointment that was for me.

I saw the first Spike movie. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't "Transformers". The second? I'll pass on it.
I didn't think I was a die-hard purist until I saw the Spike movie. See, Transformers is about the Transformers, not Spike and Sparkplug (although they had a VERY minor role on occasion).
Spike was about Spike. Spike II will be about Spike as well.
For you REAL Transformer fans:
"You call this a coronation? I call this bad comedy!"
"Megatron - is that YOU?!"
"Here's a hint."

They dumbed it waaaay down. Seriously silly. Stupid at times. Some of the scene transitions were terrible (poor editing). Some of the jokes were forced. Ending weak.
On the other hand, the f/x was good, some of the cinematography was terrific, there were a lot of funny moments and lines, and the near ending was very enjoyable. Fantastic bass as usual.
There were huge applauses at the end. This is a popcorn flick that's fun at times but mostly not a memorable flick. I won't be in any rush for the Blu-ray.

I enjoyed it not as much as the first one. fans of Transformers who read the comics obviously have a different expectations for the movie. The ending I felt was dragged out, and it could have been better. My girlfriend didn't like it I thought it was worth watching but nothing spectacular.

probably going to check it out tomorrow, i loved the first one. the way i see it, is a movie is just for entertainment, if i'm entertained for the time i watch it, great, if not, then i won't watch it all, but i think over the past 5 years, there's only been a couple movies that i haven't finished watching. so i guess you could say im easily entertained.

I hate movies in general- EXCEPT for the 1st XFORMERS, so, I'll be even more pissed if this dissapoints. I wait for the rental I guess.
I took my youngest yesterday afternoon to one og the new digital theaters and we loved it. The only problem I having never seen the cartoons is keeping up with who the bad guys are.
7.8 out of ten and definitely be added to the Blu-Rays when it's released.
Megan looked a lot better in this one...less sleazy....really I mean oily.

Seeing it tomorrow, cannot wait.
Well,
A lot of frenetic action...maybe a bit too much! Not as good as #1 but not horrible. My daughter seemed to like it more than I? The film is a bit like the attention span of 'kids'...got to keep MOVING....don't stop to reflect or ask any questions. It also reflects our TIMES...a postmodern dynamism of the forever 'new' and 'stimulating' but to what END no one knows anymore and doesn't even think we should ask such questions! Oh well. Could use an edit...as well.
Probably look good and sound GREAT in Blu-ray...on another note, I noticed that my theater is using a Klipsch based surround system?
Honestly that is what I kind of disliked about the 1st Transformers...
I could honestly care less about Sam Witwicky, his family, and his girlfriend. Not to mention the reason why he is connected to the Transformers. I have waited my entire life to watch Optimus Prime, life size, kick mega ass. Now - the little back story is cool, it ties it all together. But, in the new movie, I could have done without the college scenes, the loves scenes, any of that...
This is a popcorn flick. Remove your brain and hold on. Lots of violence, lots of death, lots of kicking ass.

Robots... Beating the hell out of one another.
And the transformer Isabel Lucas tail-scene... Jebus...
Anyone who complains about how real this or that is or how this or that could never happen... It's f##kin' alien robots... Seriously.
If you were looking for fantastic story line... It's a movie based on toys... Not a movie that happens to have some toys that sell good. It even says in the credits that it's based off the toy line by Hasbro. This isn't some fantastic award winning "make you think" drama; it's a story about robot aliens, based off of friggin toys and it involves two hot chicks somewhere in there...
I didn't waste $7.50; I invested $7.50 on 2.5 hours of entertaining, ass-kicking robot aliens interacting with a guy and a couple hot chicks...

We just saw this at the IMAX, first time at a regular imax theater. The experience was awesome overall.
As for the movie...
I don't see how anyone who purchased tickets and knowingly walked in to watch a Transformers movie could hate this film, I just don't. I thought this was better than the first by a large margain.
Did it have great acting or a good story line? No clue, didn't watch it for those. There were three things I wanted to see in this movie:
1 - Good special effects...check
2 - Hot chick...check
3 - Alien Robots kicking ass...check

Movie kicked ass!! I went in looking for robots blowing stuff up,some eye candy, good special effects, and good sound. I came away feeling like I just saw a Rambo or Rocky movie. I was pumped up after the movie let out. I went to the gym afterwards and had an amazing workout. Don't know if it was the action or watching Megan Fox running around all sexified. Hell, she could be wearing a bag made of beetle dung and she would still be hotter than 98% of all women on their best day. That other chick that was mentioned was nice as well, but she needs to eat something for goodness sake. She reminds me of a girl I trained last year. The hardest part of training this girl was the fact that I was also training her girlfriend at the same time. Talk about having a hard time staying professional and not standing there with my jaw on the floor. My family went to the State Fair and I ran into them there. I thought my wife was going to have a heart attack when April came over to talk to me. I introduced everyone and even my father in law was standing there wide eyed. I think I need to offer them a few free sessions........membership went up the months I trained them, lol.

I just got back from Imax theater in Bensalem. I found the movie to be as good as the first one. Basically just kept the story moving forward.
Yeah there was some parts that could have been edited out, cut back on the sillyness but even with that I still found the movie to be very good.
The video and audio quality of the Imax theater was truly breath taking. The calibration was dead on. Once in awhile I felt the subs where hitting a bit hard but for the scene it made sense. The clarity out of the rear channels and the blending of the fronts was awesome. I noticed now surround back channels spaced out like if it where a dedicated channel instead of a 6th channel. I wonder how many movies are actually recorded in 8 channels??? I gotta brush up on that.
Meagan looked incredible and so did the Transformer Chick. I kinda suspected something like that , cool idea posing as a human. Shame as she was pretty damn hot. I think that was the idea.
Can't wait for the Blu ray.

I was entertained! Lots of action and even with the scenes trying to build the story it didn't really slow down the action much. I love the little interjections of humor. Personally, I don't want an action movie to be even close to reality, I prefer to be removed from reality when I watch a move. I think this will be fantastic on BD.
I'm not sure why anyone would expect Oscar winning performances. I just wanna see some robots kick a$$ with a couple of hot babes thrown in. Now that's entertainment!
