Max Resolution with component cables

If I have my bluray player hooked up to my 1080p Plasma via component video cables, what is the max resolution I should be able to get on my tv?

Component can technically do 1080p, but there are few (if any) players that support it due to copy protection. So using Component you're limited to 720p or 1080i.

also depends on what your tv can do...some won't display 1080p over component

Get HDMI cables and be done with it. It takes care of audio and video.

I need some help and I have researched and called numerious people and get mixed answers. I am looking at getting a amp that has 6 channels (4x 100 W @4ohms and the last two channels together are 250W @ 4 ohm for a sub)
I would like to hook up 4 polk audio speakers 60 W @ 4ohm's each, 4 factory speakers which are also 60W @4 ohm's each, and a sub 200 W @4ohm

Can I hook up the 4 factory speakers to 2 channels, the 4 polk audio speakers to 2 channels and use the last 2 channels to push the sub?

From what I understand if I hook up 2 4 ohm speakers to 1 channel is will half the Watt so in this case itwould push 50 watts to each 60 watt speaker...

Can someone give mesome guidance and advice on this?

That sounds like a bad idea to me. I think you would send that amp into protection mode before you leave the dock.

You may also get some better help in the Car audio section all the way at the bottom of the board.

As of a year or so ago there was no standard for 1080p over component. You'd need a device and TV that both did it and agreed on how it should be done. I've been meaning to try it w/ my oppo and samsung since allegedly they both can do it, but I don't have any non-copyrighted material to try it out on ...
