Wife and I just finished watching this. I would qualify this one as a sleeper and probably one of the most intriguing films I've seen in awhile. I won't give it away, but if you rent any movies this weekend, I would recommend this one. 4 out of 5 stars from me.

"zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
That's what happend to me a few times watching this movie. It had a few good parts, and i enjoyed the battle at the end, but it was just to long and drawn out. I was happy to see the credits roll..:D
Best war movie since Saving Private Ryan, i think not!

It was out of stock last weekend at Blockbuster, but we're definitely going to rent it. I believe it's a Spike Lee project, based upon a true story, if I recall correctly.

One of my kids picked this one up and we watched it last night. Keiko is right…it is a sleeper...meaning that is what I wished I had done instead of watch this movie. Beginning was bad, ending was bad, middle was blah. It was too long. There is at least and hours worth of wasted film. Since most everyone else seems to like it go ahead and give it a look....but not on my recommendation. I rate it 2 out of 5 for only because it does have one really good battle scene and some decent acting (at times).

Agreed Shack. This was a movie sorely in need of some editing.
It was based on a novel, not a true story.

Just watched this, fantastic film, very well done. Some goofy acting a few points in the film but other then that, excellent. Highly recommended.

I saw this a while back and while partly agreeing with Shack above (yes it NEEDS a good edit and wanders around), I also agree with Keiko.
I think Spike was trying to produce an EPIC film here and almost succeeded or came very close. I found it intriguing if a tad 'long'.

A little long but I still enjoyed it.
