Maybe you guys have seen this, maybe you have not.

I don't know how it compares to lead shot. Anybody here use this stuff before?

Yikes. It would cost more for the filler then it cost for my stands.

You try it out and let us know, I will stick with my $3 play sand.

Looks real close to black beauty blasting material that menards sells for less than $10 a 50 pound bag.I don't think that would be a wise cost cutting approach when dealing with electronic gear. :eek:

Blasting as in...sand blasting. It's designed to crumble in a specific way.

I'm not sure about what ShinAce is talking about but it's worth a look if you have a Menard's handy.

A pretty serious license is needed for that and Menard's isn't a dealer in explosives of that type.

LOL!!! Next time you are at Menards take a look at it, I use it in a sandblasting cabinet and the stuff pours and compacts real nice. To get the most mass and fill all the voids a mix of #9 lead and silica sand or black beauty might be best.
