I found an offering on eBay from a guy who rebuilds NAD and other brands of amplifiers at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200304720294 (no afilliation)

I've been contemplating having my 1988 NAD 7600 receiver rebuilt for quite some time now and learned he charges $195 + shipping for receivers as they are more involved than just an amp at the $129 + shipping.

He shows a list of the component brands he uses and I don't know enough about it to know if they are high quality or not. He answered my email about my 7600 saying he replaces 30 components in my specific model.

Does anyone have general comments for me about such a rebuild, or any specific experience with this person on eBay? He has lots of positive feedback.

Bump. I am very curious about this as well.

Anybody?

I haven't heard anything about it myself, but it could be a good gig. If they produce exactly what they say, it would be a good deal with a nice upgrade to your amp.

I'm looking at them as well--I've got a 2600A amplifier that I might send them, and they're about 10 miles away, so I could avoid the shipping issues.

If anyone pulls the trigger and has results to report (myself included), come back here to talk about it!

Count me in. I have a 2200 in the closet that I would spend a reasonable amount on. Keep us posted.
