I'm not sure about the RTi's, but I am very happy with my UPA-7 in my new set-up.

Bjorn, congrats on the UPA-7. I'm very interested in this amp myself so let us know how your setup sounds with it.

What were you using before the UPA-7? What made you want to upgrade?

I'm waiting for the UMC-1 to come out to see if they come out with a package deal (UMC-A/UPA-7).

Falcon, i doubt they will sell combo, but it would be nice if they do that, i have plans for upa 7 or xpa 5 + xpa 2 later.

I was using a Harman Kardon AVR-140, which sounded great..... but everyone says that a separate amp for the RTi's is a great upgrade. I also have an LMC-1 that i will be using with it as well.

They had a combo with the LMC-1 and the LPA-1 for a while and in the Emotiva forums I believe Dan (or maybe it was someone else) mentioned that a UMC-1 combo may happen.

I think they will offer a UMC-1/UPA-7 combo and then when the XMC-1 comes out they will have a XMC-1/XPA-5 combo.

We'll see what happens but it does look like a special offer will be in the works.

UPA-7 sounds exactly same as Harman Kardon AVR-140 with the exception that it will go about 3 times louder. Only problem is that i have a loud static hiss in all my speakers. It appears that it may be the electric outlet so i'll try a different outlet to see what happens.

Of course it sounds the same. The only thing an amp should do IS make it clearer, better separation of instruments & vocals & have tons more headroom. All the processing is STILL being done by your HK. Congrats & enjoy,

actually AVR-140 is completely out of the picture now, using LMC-1 for processing :)
