I'm looking for a decent amp for my system and have a couple questions before I purchase one. I want something that can handle an output of up to about 250 watts per channel. I'm kind of curious, do any companies make amplifiers with selectable outputs per channel? For example, I'm running RT20P towers up front with a CS350LS center and LS-f/x rears, soon to be RTi 12s or similar. The CS3350LS is rated at up to 250 watts, 300 for the towers and 100 for the rears.
Does anybody make an amplifier that enables you to select an output like say, 250 watts for fronts, 200 for center and the same for the rears? I have an Onkyo TX-SR606 on order and I don't need anything for the sub - I've got the MicroPRO 4000. I would just like some input on amps that cost a few hundred. I've looked for Outlaws but I can't find anything within my price range, just a few that are slightly higher. If there isn't anyone that makes a selectable output for a reasonable price, I think I will just have to stick with something that's rated around 200 watts (I'm not planning on keeping the LS-f/x hooked up with the amp, I don't want to blow those). Also, If I get a 7 channel amplifier, is it possible to bi-wire my towers or would that blow the drivers? If anyone has any ideas or input, I would greatly appreciate it.
