Well here is another SUPER HIGH RATED Classical Cd for ya to look out for!

Vaughan Williams: Fantasia On A Theme By Thomas Tallis/Fantasia On "Greensleeves"
Elgar: Introduction and Allegro Serinade Elegy Sospiri

Man this has gotten some incredible ratings everywhere!
Amazon Straight 5 stars from 23 reviewers nothing but positive.
Penguin Guide to Classical Compact Disc's 2009 gives both Elgar and VW Rosette ratings.
(Their very highest...2 Rosettes on one Cd is RARE)
Once ya hear it.....it's easy to hear why!!

The re mastering is incredible....hard to believe it was originally on Vinyl in 1963 and 1966.
A super performance by Barbirolli and NPO!
It truly earns the series title "Great Recordings Of The Century"
VERY worthy of your Collection.

I got this at Barnes and Noble locally but Amazon has a coupla resellers that have it reasonable.

Jim, I already have more than one version of most of those compositions, but none of them are by Sir John, and it looks like I'll be adding that one.

The Elgar works bring to mind the terrific bargain sale going on now at MDT on 2-disc Decca and Philips sets, which includes probably my favorite Elgar set, this one (http://www.mdt.co.uk/MDTSite/product//4438562.htm), containing the 1st and 2nd Symphonies plus the Cockaigne and In The South overtures. As with probably another half dozen of the sets that I could highly recommend, they're almost giving the 2 discs away for about $7.90 plus $1.10 shipping.

On those UK sites where everything is listed as £ how do you know what it is in USA funds?
