Anyone use RTi A3's as fronts? If so, how do they sound?
If I do this, I will need to mount them on a wall. Any recommendations for brackets or can I use the keyhole on the back? I saw someone else recommend the BT-77's too...
I am thinking about A3's for the front and rear, and CSi A6 as the center. The only other option is A1's for the rear, but I'm not sure how much of a drop off there is...

Rti a3 up front is a great idea. While speakers stands are prefered wall mounting them will be ok .

I run the RTiA3s as fronts with the BT-77s:

CSiA6 would be a great match for a center.
RTiA3s for rears would be perfect symmetry, but you would not give up much if you chose RTiA1s...I run RTi4s as my rears and the balance between the fronts and rears is quite good.
Personally, I think that the RTiA3s should be mounted away from the wall - they pack more bass than expected and having them too close to the wall would, imho, muddy the bass response with too much reinforcement with the power port right up against a wall using the keyhole mount.
I think you'd be happy with the RTiA3s in a modest HT setup - good for music and movies - can really pump out some clean sonic goodness! :D

Good choice -- I'm also running the RTi A3 / CSi A6 combo for my fronts. For rears, I was going to use TC60i in-ceilings in a 7.1 config, but have since taken the advice of folks on this board and I'm selling the TC's to get FXi A6's and going with a 5.1 setup. I'll let you know how it sounds, but by all accounts the FXi A6's are highly regarded as a good match and great sounding speaker for rears on a setup like yours...

Definitely! I was wondering about the A6's. I'm thinking A6, A3 or A1 for the rears.
I debated going 7.1 but there's still a lot of 5.1 only and I have a small room. I will wait until its at least 11.1 and sit on speakers.

When I was looking for advice on my setup, I was originally going with a 7.1 system. Both the size and layout of my room dictated that 5.1 was the ticket, but I just WANTED the 7.1 -- fortunately the cooler heads here helped me come to my senses. I'm going with the FXi A6 because I've had bipole and dipole surrounds from Mirage and MB Quart in the past, and I've enjoyed them quite a bit.
Whether you go with the FXi or RTi is mostly a matter of your personal preference for direct-firing or bi-pole/di-pole surrounds. If you do go with the RTi's my recommendation would be to go with the A3's for a perfectly consistent soundfield -- I wouldn't skimp on this last part -- the difference in price from A1's to A3's, especially if you get refurb from Polk Direct, wouldn't be enough to make it worth it, in my opinon.

I also have the A3's and A6 up front. They work very well together for music and movies. The A6 is a beast that does an excellent job with dialogue for movies and the A3's are no slouch. The bass response from them is quite good for a seamless transition to the subwoofer for LFE response.
As far as price/performance goes these front three with a decent subwoofer are about as good as you can do imo.
I currently have monitor 40's as rears and am awaiting fxi3's from polk direct. I am interested in testing monitor 40's vs. fxi3's vs. rti A3's as rears.
