View Full Version : [Help Needed] LSi 9's came broke..Easy Fix???

I just bought a pair of LSi 9's off Craigslist from someone, somewhat local. Anyhow, the box looked OK and I proceeded to open it... the tweeter was pushed in. Is there a way to fix this? Filling a claim with UPS is not an option.

Why can't you file a claim with UPS? What part of Wisconsin are you in?

Lee, I live in Fond du Lac. UPS delivered them on 2/24 after I left for work. Upon speaking to my GF she opened the box and discovered the problem tweeter. Since everyone is sleeping... I can't play them however,from the photos I received ( every angle) they looked in great condition. I can't see UPS taking any blame.

Call Polk customer service. At worst, I think a new tweeter is around $40.

UPS will just give you the run around for ever... I had them deliver a package once that looked like they used it in a game of soccer. They just covered it in UPS tape and stuck it on my door step.

The package was destroyed, they kept on blaming the shipper saying it was not packed properly... :rolleyes:

They were shipping a STEEL BOX... They destroyed a steel box, and they blame the shipper?

All in all, I contacted the company again after six months and they felt bad enough to just ship me out a new one... Through Fedex. ;)

I have had to file two claims with UPS.... Both were handled in a speedy fashion and I had a check from them in a week or less..



Might be worth a try if they were insured..

Turns out that the tweeter wasn't pushed in but the cone of the lower driver was. The speakers have seen better days but they seem to play fine although I haven't done in depth listening to them yet. I'm guess that the issue with the lower driver shouldn't affect its play. AM I right? TIA, Steve
